As if it weren't wonderful enough that Gov. Schweitzer is hosting an energy symposium (open to all) in two weeks, Missoula's own College Of Technology (affectionately known as the Vo-Tech, but
respectfully abbreviated as COT) has launched a hydrogen education website for kids, teachers, and anyone else interested in the future of world energy. According to the Missoulian, the website was one of three projects funded by a $750,000 federal grant COT received last year.
COT's two other goals are to create an online program at the school to train energy technicians and to create a national hydrogen training center in partnership with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Wash., and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo.
What's interesting about the website is that it has no obvious connection to or origin in Missoula. It could have come from anywhere. Of course, once Gov. Schweitzer makes Montana known as the place where energy alternatives have a true future, you might see Montana stamped all over those webpages. In the meantime, check it out -- there's an amazing amount of information stored there.
